First day of School!!

Gavin couldn't wait for his first day of school.  All his friends are either in kindergarten or first grade so it was hard for him not to be able to play with friends.  Finally his first day rolled around and he couldn't have been more excited.

He had to wear his Spider Man shirt to match his Spider Man back pack.

He told Kamryn to be a big girl while he was gone:) She sure missed him and kept going into his room to look for him.  She loves her big brother!

This is the closest I could get to the preschool.  Gav wouldn't let me walk him in and gave me a wave as he ran into the class room...I guess my baby is growing up and becoming independent.

Brigham City Temple and the Old Man

Spur of the moment planning and me not having to be at work the first week at school allowed us to take a quick trip to Brigham City for the temple openhouse.  We were lucky enough to have Aunt Hillary come with us and enjoy the day as well.  Gavin thought it was pretty cool that we got to ride on big buses to get to the temple.  Both kids were surprisingly very reverant during the waiting process and did so good inside the temple too.  Gavin was intrigued with the pamphlet that we got before we went in the temple and was excited to see the river (baptismal font).  Once inside it was so beautiful and spiritual.  I held Gavin up so he could see in the mirrors that are across from each other and told him we would go on forever just like the mirrors.  He was amazed and said, "Wow that is a really long time."  I am so glad we got the opportunity to see the temple and am grateful for my eternal family!

The kids and Aunt Hill outside the temple.  Gavin was being extremely happy at the moment.

Gavin loves his Aunt Hill!!

It was hard for Gavin to keep his hands out of the water, and he kept wanting to throw a penny in it to make a wish...what a kid!

This year Carl turned the big 30 and we had to celebrate.  We had my family over for a bbq and had a good time enjoying each other's company.

The two men cooking dinner.

Kamryn had to supervise the boys...she knows the kind of mischief they can get into when left alone!

Let the fun begin!

Yay it's soccer time!  Today was Gavin's first soccer practice and surprisingly he did great.  I was worried because all we know about soccer is kick it in the goal and don't touch the ball with your hands.  He still needs to work on the no touching with hands but did awesome today.  He told me he wants to be the "goaler" all the time.

 Kicking into the goal.

Being the goalie a.k.a. the goaler.

Showing off his new jersey.  He asked if he could sleep in it tonight and doesn't want to take it off.  What a kid!  I am so excited to watch him play!!!

Ute Stampede

Last weekend was the Ute Stampede (a.k.a the best weekend in Nephi) and we were so excited to go.  Aunt Hill came and stayed with us and went to the Stampede as well.  We had so much fun and loved the rodeo.

Gavin saw Aunt Hill doing her hair for the rodeo so he had to get in the bathroom and do his.  He is turning into a high maintenence little man!

 Aunt Hill and Kamryn.
Normally Kamryn is a Momma's girl, but she loved her Aunt Hill which was a HUGE relief for my arms!

Of course we couldn't get a pic with all of us looking.

Miss Independent.  She didn't want anything to do with us, she had to sit by herself and climb up the bleachers all alone.  She makes me nervous!!

The best part of the rodeo!

Beautiful sight!  This brings tears to my eyes every year.

God Bless America!!!

Happy 4th of July!

I love the 4th of July and this year had to fly solo (which lately is the story of my life). We spent the 3rd in Gunnison and the 4th in Salina, the best of both worlds if you ask me.  We got tons of candy and had so much fun with our family!!

We went to the Restless Heart concert in Gunnison with the Andersons.  The kids loved dancing to the music and playing with their cousins and even enjoyed the fireworks.

 Kamryn loved her licorice!

And Gavin loved dancing with his glow sticks.  He's quite the dancer too, gets his moves from me NOT Carl.

On the 4th I met my parents in Gunnison for the parade.  Kamryn was such a Momma's girl that morning and Gavin was in the parade so I had a hard time catching him candy.
 Kamryn started out happy.

But any time I wasn't holding her or walked away this is what she did...which made for a long day for me!

Uncle B, Marissa, Kooper, and Gav's truck.

This is the only picture I got of Gavin, Brandon was driving too fast and my camera is too slow so I got the tip of his head and arm.  He was having a blast and thought he was pretty cool.

Later on we went over to Salina and played their games.  Gav loved the bouncy slide and Kamryn slept at Grandma and Grandpa B's house.

He did awesome at the dart game and even won Kamryn a necklace.  What a nice brother!

Later on we went to the parade in Salina.  Grandma Brown, Dwight, Breeanna, and Tanner met us there and Grandma was lucky enough to hold Kamryn the whole parade.  She was asleep the whole time, otherwise Kamryn would have been screaming!

Grandpa B was in the parade with the city council.

Gav and Laynie showing off their treats.  We walked away with lots of candy and lots of fun.  I'm still pretty sure that there is no way to celebrate the 4th unless you are in Salina!  It's the best hometown entertainment and of course, great seeing family and friends.  God Bless America!!

Gavin's 4th Birthday

My little man turned 4 on June 26th and his only request was a hunting camo birthday party.  Not exactly an easy request for a non-crafty mom, so I had to get my serious thinking hat on.  Here's what I came up with:

Pin the antlers on the deer:

Thanks to Marissa, she made the deer for me and it was a huge hit for the kids.  Gavin loves it and has played with it at home too.

 Laynie pinning the antlers on.

Our cute deer after the kids got their hands on him:)

Gavin's cute friends who came to the party.  They are all such fun kids and I think they all had fun!

Hunter, hunter, DEER!  Our version of Duck, Duck, Goose!  The weather was not cooperating and I had to make some changes with games so luckily my sister Hillary was on her toes and thought of this one.  The boys loved it.

The boys were each going to get a balloon and draw what they wanted to hunt on it, and then with squirt guns go hunting for them.  But thanks to the wind we had balloons tied in knots so the kids shot the balloons and eachother with the water.

Gav got lots of fun presents.  His friends were all VERY helpful in opening them too.

The day after Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came by and gave Gav a bat and baseballs for his birthday.  He has slept with the bat and takes it pretty much everywhere he goes.

Overall, I think the party was a hit.  Gav gave me a huge hug when he went to bed that night and thanked me for the party.  He told me he loved me and that next year he wanted a Batman and Spiderman birthday.  I guess its good he's giving me a whole year to start planning that one.

Happy Birthday Gavino Bambino!  We love you!!!!!

T-ball fun!

This was Gavin's first year playing t-ball and it has been so entertaining.  Between kids peeing in the outfield to everyone dog piling on the ball, we have had our fair share of laughs.  I didn't think it would work out well because Carl and Gavin's personalities clashed at one of the first practices (slightly embarrassing.)  But after putting Carl in charge of chasing after Kamryn and me playing 3rd base coach here and there, we made it through the season in one piece.

Gav loved to hit the ball!  And he did pretty good, hopefully there is a promising future in baseball for him:)

Playing outfield, or should I say watching everything but the game.  Outfield was such a hard position for the kids, they usually ended up playing with the grass or chasing butterflies.

ATTACK!  Everyone went after the ball no matter how close it was to them.  What a fun time!  The coach was very patient and great with the kids.  I can't wait for next year!
